Osaka Custom Pro Control 2024

The Osaka Custom Pro Control 2024 is a light control racket that you design yourself. Its Round profile and Medium feel give precise placement and very fast handling, but the racket asks for clean contact.

I see it suiting players who build points with placement, defend with time to spare, and move forward behind a well-directed bandeja. It is not a racket for brute-force winners. It gives a little power when you ask for it, but only with good timing.

There is a clear contrast in its character: the face is quite firm and the foam is quite soft. That mix gives a versatile feeling of precision. The cost is the sweet spot: it sits in the center of the face, and off-center hits feel dead.

Technical analysis

Shape & balance

The round mold keeps the sweet spot in the middle of the face. On centered hits the ball goes where you aim it. On hits near the edge, the ball loses speed and direction, especially on slow shots.

The racket weighs between 355 and 375 grams and the balance is light in the head. It comes around very quickly for fast exchanges at the net and gives you plenty of time from the back. What it will not give you is the natural leverage of a diamond-shaped attacking racket on a full overhead swing.

Materials & construction

Osaka uses a Carbon fiber frame, 3K Carbon fiber faces, and an EVA Soft core. The face is semi-hard and does not absorb much, so the strike stays direct and precise. The soft foam adds a little comfort and a little power on demand.

The face has a sandpaper texture from the frame to the face. That roughness grips the ball on sliced volleys and cut bandejas. The rebound is moderate: slow swings do not produce free depth, so you must use your arm on soft shots.

On-court feel

Baseline play

From the baseline, the Custom Pro Control is a good defender because it is so fast. You always have time to prepare the shot, and precision holds at high and low speed.

The trade-off is margin on off-center contact. Slow blocks and lobs off the glass need a clean hit in the center. When you miss the sweet spot, the rigid carbon makes the ball feel dead, and the shot can fall short.

At the net

Maneuverability is its strongest point. The light head and round format make reaction volleys quick and easy, and the rough face helps you slice through the ball with control.

I would use it to place volleys rather than trying to crush every ball. It keeps the ball low and well directed, but it does not deliver the heavy contact of a firmer, head-heavy racket when you want to finish through your opponent.

Bandeja and víbora

The racket feels light overhead, but the firm face helps here. You can accelerate the bandeja and the víbora toward the corner with confidence.

Slow blocks and rulos to the side fence are less natural, because the racket asks you to add arm speed. Players who want raw weight on the smash may want a heavier racket with more mass in the head.

Conclusion

The Osaka Custom Pro Control 2024 makes sense for intermediate players who value precision, very fast handling and a custom design. It suits patient defenders and net players who win through placement rather than constant acceleration.

Its main trade-off is clear: the sweet spot is centered and not forgiving, and slow shots need clean contact. If you often hit off-center, or if your game depends on heavy smashes, this is not the most natural fit.
