What we like
- Large sweet spot on blocks
- Lively ball exit from baseline
- Quick, forgiving reaction volleys
What we don't
- Limited punch on smashes
- Bouncy response on touch shots
- Less precision on fast drives

Munich X-Faith 2023 is a forgiving, easy-going racket built around a large hitting area and a notably lively response. Its round shape puts control first, but it is not a dead, purely defensive round racket.
I see it fitting the weekly player who wants help from the racket on compact strokes, blocked returns, and off-the-wall play. It gives the ball plenty of exit; that is its main character.
The trade-off is clear: it will not give a heavy, punishing finish on a smash unless you bring the acceleration yourself.
Technical analysis
Shape & balance
The round mold and medium balance make this racket quick through the hitting zone. I found that especially useful in rushed defensive exchanges, where getting the face behind the ball matters more than generating extra racket-head speed.
Its large sweet spot is the standout feature. Contact does not need to be perfectly centered for the ball to come off cleanly, which makes a difference on blocks, stretched volleys, and defensive lobs played under pressure.
That forgiveness also means the racket does not feel especially sharp or demanding. Players who like a head-heavy racket that rewards a full, aggressive swing may find the X-Faith a little too polite.
Materials & construction
Munich uses a 100% carbon tubular frame, X-Glass 700 faces, and an EVA Core ++ core. On court, that combination reads as a comfortable, elastic setup rather than a stiff carbon-heavy racket.
The result is a soft, lively feel with very easy ball exit. I did not need to force the ball from deep in the court, and compact swings still carried enough length. The downside is that this response can become slightly bouncy when I try to play very slow, touch-based shots. A delicate drop shot or chiquita needs a softer hand than the racket’s friendly response initially suggests.
On-court feel
Baseline play
From the baseline, this is where the X-Faith makes the most sense. The ball leaves the face easily on defensive shots, and the broad sweet spot gives me confidence when I am late to a ball after the glass. It is particularly comfortable for simply absorbing pace and sending a controlled lob back toward the middle.
The racket is also maneuverable enough for quick changes of grip and direction. Still, I would not call its response especially precise at high speed. When I try to drive a low ball hard through a narrow gap, the softer face gives less immediate feedback than a firmer carbon model.
At the net
At the net, the X-Faith is fast and forgiving. Blocking hard volleys is uncomplicated, and I can redirect the ball without feeling that the racket wants to twist in my hand. It helps on reaction volleys more than it helps on put-away volleys.
For players who build points with placement, depth, and repeated pressure, that is useful. For players who want every volley to feel heavy and penetrating, it lacks some punch. The racket returns pace well, but it does not naturally produce the dense ball of a harder, more attack-oriented frame.
Bandeja and víbora
The easy exit helps keep a bandeja deep without overhitting it. I could play the shot with a compact motion and still get enough length to hold the net. A víbora is more limited: the racket is quick enough to shape the ball, but it does not provide the firm, crisp response I prefer for driving it aggressively toward the side wall.
Conclusion
I would choose the X-Faith 2023 for control-oriented intermediate players, or anyone who wants a round racket that makes defense and recovery shots less demanding. Its forgiving sweet spot and lively ball exit are real assets in normal club-level points.
Buy into its comfort and easy response, but accept the compromise. This is not a racket for players chasing a hard smash, a dry contact sensation, or maximum precision on fast attacking shots.
